Spring brings new opportunities to the Asian furniture manufacturing industry as the highly-anticipated CIFM/interzum guangzhou 2023 readies to open its doors from March 28-31. Showcasing cutting-edge technologies and applications in the furniture industry, this year's exhibition is poised to attract nearly 1,000 of the most distinguished companies from over 20 countries and regions, alongside nearly 140,000 trade visitors.
The event will feature some of the most recognized brands in the industry whose participation underscores the event's importance and influence in the Asian furniture business.
International recognition
Celebrating the best in innovation and design, the interzum guangzhou Award - with origins from the prestigious interzum Award - is an essential recognition by CIFM/interzum guangzhou that attracts numerous international enterprises each year to promote industry transformation. The Awards focus on new materials, new technologies, and new needs to provide a forward-looking vision and support the industry's sustainable development.
This year's selection process involves a panel of highly professional international judges, including the internationally renowned designer and imm Creative Director Dick Spierenburg, and European material expert and member of the Red Dot Design Award jury Hon.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters.
Recently announced, the Outstanding Accessories List for 2023 comprises highquality products with development potential from winning companies CoolisT, DewertOkin, eMoMo, Henkel, Laminuo, Lien A, limoss, MaxOVVO, SIMALFA®, and SUGATSUNE.
Among the winning works, the concept of concealed design, which combines aesthetics and practicality, has received widespread attention. Whether it is the intelligent AI zero-pressure mattress or the space-saving and flexible storage solutions, these innovative designs are pushing the boundaries of the possibilities of the furniture industry.
Advisor, Hon.-Prof. Dr. Peters commented: "Looking at this year's finalists, we see a clear shift towards sustainability and digitalisation. The use of natural materials on the one hand and the exploitation of big data and artificial intelligence on the other are the two poles of a field of tension in which companies in the furniture and interior industry are currently navigating with their new developments."
In addition, a new award category “interzum guangzhou Recommends” has been introduced to pay homage to companies that continuously produce high-quality
products and pursue excellence in research and development. The winning companies in this category this year include Jowat SE, Kronospan, LINAK, Lion Rock Group, PRINTECH KR, REHAU, and Schattdecor.
The winning products will be publicly displayed in the interzum guangzhou Award special showcase area during the exhibition period, providing industry professionals with more constructive new ideas. The winning companies will also be invited to the interzum guangzhou Award ceremony on the first day of the exhibition to receive the coveted honor in the presence of fellow industry players.
The power of ‘Sleep’
As the global sleep industry continues to grow and innovate, the upcoming edition of CIFM/interzum guangzhou will showcase a special sleep zone themed “WAKEFULNESS” at the Vitality of Sustainable Innovation to Life (VSIL) Gallery.
This innovative zone will provide a platform for industry professionals to explore new ideas for the future of sleep.
The VSIL Gallery is a collaboration with Netherlands-based design studio Enrichers. The showcase will revolve around Enrichers' sleep research report, which explores emotional release through objects and space, provides highquality sleep suggestions by adjusting temperature and lighting, and features user-centric product design.
Through the VSIL Gallery, the exhibition aims to inspire businesses, designers and researchers in the sleep industry with more future designs and ideas. The launch of the sleep zone coincides with World Sleep Day, highlighting the importance of sleep in our daily lives and the significance of innovative solutions to improve our sleep quality.
