Overall, the increase in Swedish exports was supported by larger deliveries to Egypt and Great Britain. But even to Denmark, Algeria, China and Belgium considerably more was exported.
Swedish shipments to Europe and the EU have increased by 4.4% and 4.7% respectively. To Europe over 7 million cubic meters were delivered, while to the EU more than 6 million cubic meters.
Thanks to the upturn in Egypt, exports to Africa rose by 24.4% to nearly 2.8 million cbm. Even to Algeria, Morocco and Sudan was delivered more than in the same period last year. Only the amounts exported to Tunisia declined.
On contrast, deliveries to Asia declined dramatically, as to Japan exports were 300,000 cbm less than in the same period of 2013. Overall in Asia, Swedish softwood lumber exports dropped by 9,2%, down to 1.7 million cbm.
A significant rise can be noticed in the average export value of the Swedish softwood lumber. The average export price in November was 2,010 SEK / cbm (214.52 EUR), 6.6% higher than in the same month last year.
