The forest group Södra says it will increase the premiums paid for certified wood. The increases are justified by the good demand for certified wood products and pulp. In addition, the certification surcharge will also be paid to logging residues in the future.

The supplement for double-certified wood will increase by one-third to SEK 40 per cubic meter (EUR 3.80). The supplement for wood certified with one certification system increases to SEK 20 per cubic meter, the supplement for logging residues is SEK 7.5 per cubic meter for a single certificate tree and SEK 15 per double for a certified one.

“A large number of Södra members have double-certified their forests and it is gratifying that there is strong demand for these sustainable forestry products,” says Olof Hansson , Business Director of Södra Skog .

The company last raised wood prices at the end of April. After the increases, the “base price” for softwood was SEK 385 (EUR 36.7) per cubic and hardwood SEK 425 (EUR 40.5) per cubic. The increases were justified by strong demand.
