In July 2022, the German producer price indices for spruce partially deviated from the upward trend of the previous months. On average, the index for log wood fell slightly by 0.5% to 103.3 points. B qualities recorded an increase of 1.1% to 107.2 points, to which 3 m lengths contributed 1.1% to 108.6 points. 4/5 m lengths increased by 1.7% to a level of 107.9 points.
C ranges fell by 1.4% to 95 points. 3 m lengths recorded a minus of 0.2% to 100.9 points. 4/5 m lengths fell by 0.5% to 98.6 points. B/C ranges recorded a minus of 2.5% to 101.9 points
Spruce pulpwood fell in July by 1.7% to a value of 94.5 points. Pine pulpwood recorded a minus of 2.2% to 93.1 points. Douglas fir pulpwood maintained the level of 70 points. The softwood pulpwood index fell by 1.8% to 92 points.
Year-on-year the spruce index increased by 25.8%. B grades recorded an increase of 23.9%, with 3 m lengths contributing 23% and 4/5 m lengths 22.2%. C grades gained an average of 28.6%, with 3m lengths up 27.9% and 4/5m lengths up 26.4%. B/C ranges increased by 27.7%. And the index for spruce pulpwood was 71.5% higher than in the same month last year.
