Germany: Douglas fir log price index mostly decreasing

Alternativtext The German producer price indices for Douglas fir changed trend in January 2023 again. On average, the index for log wood decreased by -1,6% to 80,8 points. B qualities reached the level of 94,8 points ( -3,3% ), to which 3 m lengths contributed with -2,3% to 94,5 points – and 4/5 m lengths with a gain compared to the last data filled month to 87,1 .

C qualities in January reached 68,7 points ( 0,3% ) – in 3 m lengths 79,3 ( ). B/C qualities reached 78,3 points ( -1,1% compared to the previous month).

Alternativtext For spruce pulpwood Destatis calculated an index of 120,3 points (2,75%). Pulpwood of pine reached 115,5 points ( 3,1% ). Douglas fir pulpwood reached 81,2 points ( 12,0% ). The softwood pulpwood index arrived at 115,3 points ( 5,8% ).
