Andritz has successfully started up a new pulp mill in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul state, for the Brazilian pulp producer Suzano. When fully operational, the annual production capacity is expected to be 2.55 million t of eucalyptus pulp. The scope of supply included a complete woodyard with five chip lines, the fiberline (capacity over 8,000 t/d lutro) with special washing and bleaching technology, the pulp drying system, a black liquor evaporation plant, a HERB recovery boiler to maximize steam production for power generation, a biomass boiler based on the stationary Andritz EcoFluid fluidized bed technology, and a complete white liquor plant with causticization plant and two rotary kilns.
