Schweighofer's construction of its new sawmill in Romania progresses well

Schweighofer construction works for the new sawmill in Reci (Romania, county Covasna) are proceeding very well, the company announced in a press release. At the moment the planing hall, the cutting hall and the kiln drying chambers are being built. Four of the total 9 pellets silos are also already under construction. The log place will follow in August. Start of operation will be in 1st quarter of 2015.

The company says that 150 Mio Euro will be invested and approximately 650 people from the region will find a place to work. The sawmill will have an annual cutting capacity of 800,000 m³ and 80% of the produced lumber will be exported to markets in Asia (mostly Japan). Gluelam production (Post) will be 100.000 m³, while pellets production will reach 130.000 tons per year.

they will distroing all the forest around and all the wile animals will
be gone. I am not happy for this what is going on around. After when
they will distroing al the small and medium company's , in a few years
they will leave and let the country to have no more wood production and
also that 650 people will be out of job for real. now that 650 people
they are working but after when Schweighofer will close down because of
no more wood to cut, all the 650 people will be out of work and also
will not going to exist that small company's witch one produce some
jobs. took us more then 20 years after the revolution from the communism
to we can find the solution to suvirve , now Schweighofer will
distroing everything in a few years. thanks to the county of Covasna who
was approved this construction. looks like the money talks
