The research and development center Kaspnits (ООО НИЦ «КаспНИЦ») based in the Altai region, Russia, has been granted a patent on a unique wooden house construction technology. The technology is called "Altai warm house".

According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Altai Region, the above mentioned technology is unrivaled throughout the world.

The core idea of the patented technology is to combine regularized (calibrated) wooden boards of two different sizes. 3-meter-long boards of a different width are supposed to be alternated in a way that creates additional empty space in between them that is subsequently filled with air (air-vent), or, if necessary, with insulants.

Thus, the technology ensures high frost protection level equal to that of a 58-cm pine wall. Moreover, wooden houses built using this technology are expected to be earthquake-proof. According to Victor Revyakin, the head of the research and development center in question, the additional advantage of the patented technology consists in much lower costs in comparison to the houses built with CLT or glued beams (other factors being equal).

Currently, the first house is being assembled using this technology. The construction works will be over in June 2017.
