Due to the great response of the participants, the program of the 8th Congress will be held in the concert hall "I.B. Mazuranic"(Trg Stjepana Miletica 12) instead of the previously announced high school "Matija Antun Reljković". In the grand congress hall, representatives of the sawmill industry and forestry sector, major sectoral institutions, scientific and research community, and many others will gather in order to learn on current trends and key strategic, technological and commercial news in the area of primary wood processing. Pre-congress Activities: Study Visit to Slavonia (27.09.)
The rich content of the Congress this year will be complemented by a study visit the day before the Congress (Wednesday, 27th September), whereby interested participants will be able to visit some of the best examples of companies in the sawmill industry, including biomass plants and other interesting technology solutions. Among others, a visit to the plant in Darda is planned, where biomass gasification is carried out, producing 495 kW of electricity and 800 kW of heat. The investment began in late 2014, and the main supplier of technology was Holzenergie Wegscheid, who installed a similar installation in Germany. After the end of the activities related to the study visit, a welcome drink and dinner for participants are planned, with well-known guests from the EU and Brussels, as well as with representatives of institutions from Croatia and the Region (Apply at firstname.lastname@example.org).
A Great Response from Slovenian Sawmills!
One of the partners of the Congress is also the recently founded Slovenian Association Zavod SLOLES, which brings together Slovenian sawmill plants and sawn timber traders. The leaders of the Association together with representatives of thirty sawmills confirmed their arrival and participation in the Congress. As one of the prerequisites for competitiveness, they emphasize the importance of technological upgrading of production, optimization of business and development of new products. The goal of coming to Congress is networking and intensifying cooperation with sectoral protagonists from the SEE region. In this regard, a cooperation agreement at the level of the sectoral associations of the Croatian Wood Cluster and SLOLES will be signed at the Congress, and after coordination with the competent bodies, a formal signing of the partner agreement is expected at the institutional level between the respective ministries.
Congress Traditionally Attractive to the Technology Vendors
Technological themes on high efficiency and cost-effective solutions, the advantages of implementation of innovations, the use of modern techniques of drying and grinding solutions, and the construction of cogeneration will be presented by many famous companies like EWD, Weinig, Söderhamn Eriksson, Nigos Elektronik, Mühlböck, Polytechnik, Kohlbach, Ventex and many others. Without high-quality technology, machines and tools, it is not possible to produce a competitive product, and this year's Congress, besides the traditional raw materials, commercial and skilled labor themes, is a chance to get acquainted with the latest global technology offering in primary wood processing industry.
